What is an Institutional Site License?
A site license grants an entire university access to our electronic directories. It is accessed through IP
and Subnet Mask addresses. A one or two year subscription that is continuously updated can be purchased.
What is an IP and Subnet Mask Address?
IP stands for Internet Protocol. All computers across the internet are assigned a unique identifier called an IP address.
IP addresses are similar to street addresses so other computers can locate them. For example, an IP address may look
something like: 56.234.22.12. An IP address is characterized by four sets of numbers between 0 and 255, each separated
by periods. Your IT Department can help you with this.
